Oh, hi. Didn't see you there.

Recently finished reading The Tale of Despereaux by Kate Dicamillo

so I decided to give the movie a watch

I…

I don’t like it.

I REALLY don’t like it.

It stumbles about trying to follow the book and it’s just…weird.

They made Despereaux this cocky, confident little shit and it just doesn’t fit! He’s noble and modest in the book. And he’s voiced by freaking Matthew Broderick. BUGHHHH

And what the hell is up with the magic cook book shit? Where did that even come from?? It adds nothing but more confusion to an already confusing narrative.

BUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHLLLLGGHHH

The designs are unique, I guess. And I like the narration that pops in and out of scenes, just like the book with its “dear reader” interludes

but story wise…I feel like they dropped the ball

on their own foot

I’m addicted to this song again right now. It’s just beautiful and really calming

someone needs to take the spastic dance at the end and put it to EVERY rap song ever
